Linda’s Dutch Pancakes: Social Media Case Study

Linda's Dutch Pancakes is a well-known brunch spot in Aruba whose social media had gone completely quiet. Here is how a 45-day content plan built from scratch brought the brand back to life online.

Social media revival case study for Linda's Dutch Pancakes, Aruba brunch spot.
Linda’s Dutch Pancakes Client

Linda’s Dutch Pancakes is a well-known brunch spot in Aruba. The kind of place with a real reputation, real regulars, and tourists who plan their mornings around it. But when I first looked at their social media, none of that was visible. The accounts were completely inactive. No regular posts, no theme, no engagement. People were tagging the restaurant and asking questions in the comments, and nobody was responding. It honestly felt like the brand had disappeared online.

This is a pattern I see constantly with hospitality businesses. The real-world experience is excellent, but the digital front door is locked. And in a tourist market, that is expensive. Travelers decide where to eat by scrolling.

The starting point: a silent account

Before building anything, I studied the brand properly. I looked at what Linda’s actually is: the vibe, the food, the experience people have when they walk in. Then I identified exactly what was missing online. It was not one thing. It was everything. No publishing rhythm, no visual identity, no voice, no community management. A blank slate, which is actually good news, because it means you get to build it right from the foundation instead of fixing someone else’s mess.

The plan: 45 days of content from scratch

I created a 45-day content plan from the ground up. Every single post idea had a clear purpose behind it. Nothing was posted just to fill a slot. The plan covered:

  • Strong visuals that showed the food and the place the way customers actually experience them
  • Engaging copy written in a warm, human voice, not corporate restaurant speak
  • Captions designed for discovery, written so the content could get found through search, not just seen by existing followers
  • A consistent theme so the feed finally looked like one brand instead of random uploads

My goal was specific: make their social media feel alive again. Not just nice posts, but content that builds connection and brings results. Content that reflects the experience they offer in real life.

Why this approach works for restaurants

Most restaurant social media fails for a boring reason. It is inconsistent. A burst of posts, then silence for two months, then a blurry photo of a special. That trains the audience to ignore you. A planned calendar does the opposite. It trains the audience to expect you, and it trains the algorithm to distribute you.

The second reason it works is intent. Every post in the Linda’s plan had a job: attract a tourist planning a trip, remind a local about brunch, or give an existing fan something worth sharing. When each post has a purpose, the account stops being a gallery and starts being a growth channel.

The result

The client was really happy with the outcome and left a 5-star review. Then they came back. And came back again. Three orders in total, which is the metric I actually care about. Anyone can deliver one project. Repeat business means the work held up after the excitement wore off.

This project is a good example of what I do best. I do not just manage social media. I take brands that have gone quiet online and bring them back to life, then make sure they show up the right way, consistently.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a restaurant social media revival take?

The planning phase for Linda’s produced a 45-day content calendar. Realistically, you should expect the first month to be foundation work: brand study, content planning, and asset creation. Visible momentum usually follows once consistent publishing begins.

Do you work with restaurants outside Aruba?

Yes. The process is the same regardless of location: study the brand, build a purpose-driven content plan, create visuals and copy that match the real experience, and publish consistently. I work with hospitality brands internationally. Get in touch to discuss your restaurant.

What does social media management include?

It depends on the package, but the core is always the same: a content plan with every post given a clear purpose, on-brand visuals, engaging copy, and captions written for both connection and search discovery. See pricing for current packages.
