The festival officially inaugurated with the ribbon cutting ceremony on 15th December 2017. The opening ceremony of WSF17 was full of glam and glare. After all, it was attended by celebrities, bloggers, press, media and socialites.

The highlights of the event were the ever gorgeous Sarwat Gillani, very talented singer Natasha Baig, rapper/singer/comedian Ali Gul Pir, the legendary actor Javed Sheikh, extremely talented News Anchors Abdullah Sultan & Mubashir Hashmi and obviously host of the evening, Anoushay Ashraf.

Talking about the festival, Ms Alia Tariq (CEO of Ocean Mall) said,

“This is the 4th year of the festival and with every year it’s getting bigger and better. We have made a hub of entertainment which caters all the age groups. It’s a big shopping entertainment hub. I hope you people will avail amazing discounts with this festival. There are amazing prizes for you guys including return air tickets of Dubai and Thailand.”

Mubashir Hashmi (News Anchor of Geo News) shared his views about the fest and said,

“Such kind of festivals should be organized more and more. Families in large number visit the mall and do shopping. So people get encouraged and as a result, they do more shopping and yes they wait for the discounts as well.”

While Abdullah Sultan (News Anchor of Geo News) commented,

“It is a complete package of shopping, food, cinema and activities.”

The trend of selfies is getting popular day by day. So the mall management also allowed the audience to come on the stage for taking selfies with their favourite celebrities. The audience also participated in activities and won many exciting gift hampers.

In the end, the live performance was mandatory. So, Natasha Baig came on the stage and made the audience energetic and crazy on her performance.

As the festival has officially kicked off from 15th December and it will continue till 30th December 2017.   2. The festival seems like the right place to go. But don’t you think all the sales are happening at the end of the year? We should be having more festivals like these all year round to keep us entertained and shopping…. 🙂
