Karachi is the city of lights and Karachites are the people who know how to make the moment memorable. Be it music, concert, events, festivals and so on, the citizens attend the all with full of zeal and enthusiasm. Recently, a food festival named Bites and Vibes was organized by foodPanda on Sunday, 18th February, at the Pavilion End club, Karachi.

Bites and Vibes by Foodpanda

After the success of first round of bites and vibes in different cities of Pakistan, it was the second round that was held in the city of lights. As we know Karachites are famous for food and music and this event had both elements.

So many people with their friends and families attended the event and made this second volume successful. From chicken tikkas to burgers, sushi to pizzas, drinks to juices, teas to coffees, ice creams to kulfis; each and everything was there to energize your taste buds.

What I tried?

I tried Balochi tikka by Arabi’s, and the crunchy fries by Potadoes. These both dishes made my day. The hot and spicy tikka with the green sauce was simply love. On the other hand, the crunchy fries with mayo garlic sauce was the yummiest. After some Khapa the tea was mandatory, so I tried hot chocolate tea, and it levelled my tasted buds.

Well, an event without music concert is considered as incomplete for Karachiites. So, there was a LIVE performance as well. Yes, Natasha Baig came on the stage and tried her level best to energize the crowd, and she succeeded in doing that. Her energetic performance made the crowd dance, shout, and cheer up. By the way, the concert was also mandatory for digestion of food and the perfect ending of the weekend.

And then the trailer of most awaited movie finally launched, the teaser of the movie which was launched almost 2 months ago made the curiosity increase for trailer, and now after the launch of trailer, level of curiosity and expectations has reached its peak.

Let’s talk about the movie trailer. From entertainment to climax, action to comedy, love to romance, cinematography to direction, acting to dialogues, each and everything comes in wow factor. One of the song “Tere Naal” is mind-blowing, camera work is fab, location and sets are awesome, while the dialogues are entertaining. Few of the dialogues are following.

“Karachi ki ladkiyan you don’t know, Dimag mehdud or taleem zyada!”

“Mai bhi Faislabad sy baazi haarne nahi aya, jeet ker jaun ga ya phir jeet ker dikhauga!”

Yalghaar – It’s all about Patriotism

A nation that don’t only love their army, but also feel proud on their army. Army is the only organization in Pakistan that is only free from corruption, but also always ready to serve his country.
Pakistan Army! Zindabad

Pakistan Zindabad

Yalghaar – a movie, which has been released on this Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan along with 22 other countries of the world. Just before the Eid, a premiere of the movie was held at Islamabad, and the reviews were shared on social media made me speechless until and unless I myself watched the movie.

Just a day before, an event of special screening of Yalghaar movie by Bank Alfalah was held at Cinepax Cinema, Karachi. It was attended by media, press, socialites, bloggers, celebrities, along with the movie cast.

A movie starts from war and ends at war, because it’s Yalghaar. A movie which is based on a true story. All you can find in it from action and thriller to comedy and romance.

Nothing is perfect, so one more thing I would like to share that there were many blunders in the movie like over casting, wrong placement of brand, no scene sequence, unexpected intermission, dialogue delivery (few artists), etc. were the few from the movie. But I must say these all can be ignored because of strong, true and untold story of Pakistan Army, and you’ll definitely love the movie.

Story is very clear! It’s an army operation in which they’ve to clear swat area from terrorists. The tempo of the movie was smooth, you’ll never feel bore but yes there were very few scenes in which you might lose attention.

If I talk about the actors so Shaan shahid, Bilal Ashraf, Adnan Siddiqui, Umair Jeswal and Ayub Khoso were played the role of soldiers. So on the other hand, Sana Bucha, Uzma Khan, Ayesha Omar, and Armeena Rana Khan played the role of wives, and girlfriends. While Humayun Saeed was the villain of the movie, and Gohar Rasheed was the part of his group.

Except few actor not everyone could become successful to satisfy the audience by their acting skills. The movie also had few emotional scenes as well, which might bring tears in your eyes.

Mughalia Tarz-e-Ishq – Promotion of Mughal Culture via Ramp Walk!

We live in a country that has forgotten its identity because of too much influence of western culture, and we feel proud to adopt western culture, instead of adopting our own traditional culture that having long history. In fact we feel shame in adopting our culture. If we see the history so how beautiful and vast our culture was, and Mughal culture is one of those. Indeed Mughal era was the golden era of subcontinent, their culture, traditions, customs, and so on. Each and everything was royal.

Pakistan Fashion Industry is playing major role in destroying norms and customs of the society by continue promoting Western Culture in the society. Just because of it, the society has started adopting western culture, and has forgotten their own golden culture. And unfortunately media is playing major role in promoting instead of stopping it.

To highlight this issue Kamran Javaid (famous for organizing Karachi Advertising Festival, Karachi Short Film Festival, and Motivational campaign IQbalance) took stand to promote Mughal Culture at the opening ceremony of IQbalance season 3. Event took place at Park Towers, Karachi. It was divided into 2 parts in which the first part was the opening ceremony of IQbalance season 3, while the second part was Mughalia Ramp Walk with the name “Mughalia Tarz-e-Ishq”

The aim of the event was to promote not only Mughal culture but also new talent including Designers, Models, Make-up artists, etc. Plus, it was also the trainer launching ceremony (TLC) so in the first part of the event, trainers were introduced in TLC, while in the second part Mughlia Tarz-e-Ishq took place.

The event was attended by bloggers, photographers, press, media, and socialites among others. Although the TLC couldn’t brought the attention of attendees but the Mughlia Tarz-e-Ishq capture the hearts of audience, and in between the performance of very talented singer Syed Hassaan was trying to keep the energy level high. Although he’s new in the industry but his voice will soon make him the popular singer in the field of Music industry.

Mughalia Ramp walk was divided into 3 parts. In first part story of Salim/Anarkali and Jahanghir/Noor Jahan, in second part Nawabi culture and Umra-o-Jahan, while in third part story of Joda Akbar was shown with ramp walk of models.

While talking about the event Kamran Javaid said,
In our industry, we’re promoting western culture. So, someone has to take stand to promote Eastern culture, and I tried my best to introduce Mughia Tarz-e-Ishq for promotion of eastern culture.

Arif Dawood (Director of the Mughlia Tarz-e-Ishq) revealed,
The aim of the show is not only providing entertainment but also providing platform to all those designers who don’t get a chance to showcase their collection on renowned platforms.

It is such a great step by Mr. Kamran Javiad to promote eastern culture, and we should highly appreciate his efforts. This kind of shows should be held in each city of Pakistan, and media should give it good coverage for the betterment of society.

Here are few pictures from the event.
