Andhadhun – A film that will amaze you

The film is all about direction and screenplay. No matter how beautifully dialogues been delivered or acting been done. If the above-mentioned things aren’t good then everything will be wasted. A good film should have a start, middle (climax) and the end. We are very well aware of what Bollywood is famous for. Yes, typical love stories, which are actually ruining the South Asian societies and their culture. Well, but now few of the directors are actually breaking this stereotype. As Padman, Badhaai ho, Hichki, Veera Di Wedding, Sui Dhaaga are few of the recent films of 2018 that beautifully broke this stereotype.

Andhadhun

Andhadhun is one of the movies which made me amazed. My friend asked me to make a plan for watching this film into the cinema, just after its trailer launch. I said ok… we will see, let it be released first. Then after the released, our cinema plan couldn’t get successful. But few days back, I was searching for some good Bollywood stuff to watch. Then unexpectedly this film come in front of me. Hmm, I said yes, let’s give it a try.

Movie Review

A film started with these lines,

What is Life?

It all depends on Liver

And then the film officially kicked off with the person who’s standing in a farm and holding a gun in his hand. He sees a rabbit in his farm and runs behind him to shoot, and the moment he hits the trigger the screen turns black and the story of a pianist starts. Ayushman Khurana plays the role of a pianist named Akaash. He’s a blind artist who wants to go to Europe to pursue his career, so here in Pune, he struggles to save money for his dream.

The fact about this movie is that if I reveal much; then the entire picture will be cleared because it’s all about the thrill, suspense and the tempo of the movie is so amazing. From beginning to end, there would be hardly a second that I could lose my attention. I was like – what’s next, OMG, unbelievable – were the things that continuously revolving into mind throughout the film.

Andhadhun

The murder of the character Pramod Sinha was the turning point of this film that changed the entire life of the protagonist Akaash. And that was the moment when the director became successful to hook the attention of the audience. From that point to the end, everything was like Aage Kya Hoga. Then, the final scene appeared which made me shocked, because it was the continuous part of the scene that was shown at the beginning of the film, and here this scene completed and the story ended.

Andhadhun

I must say, this was one of the best Bollywood movies in recent times. From cinematography, acting, screenplay, dialogues to the direction. Everything was mind-blowing and worth watching this film. And yes, its IMDB rating is 8.9 which made it second best rated Bollywood film after Sanju in 2018.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi – A complete roller coaster of entertainment!

The wait is finally over now because the much-awaited movie has hit on the cinema screens on 1st September 2017. The movie has been released not only in Pakistani cinemas but also in international cinemas.

On 29th August, the premiere of Punjab Nahi Jaungi was held at Neuplex Cinema, Karachi. The cast of the movie entered in horse cart as they also gave entry at the trailer launch of the movie. Full desi environment (Dhol Dhamaka) took place when the cast reached at the venue.

The red carpet was full of glimpse and glories. It was attended by so many celebrities including Mahira Khan, Fahad Mustafa, Mawra Hocane, Ayesha Khan, Aiman Khan, Minal Khan, and Iqrar ul Hasan among many others. When the movie cast showed their appearance at the red carpet, then the bloggers, press, media and socialites couldn’t stop themselves to not only asking the questions but also wishing all the best to them.

Finally, the movie started after bit delayed than the given time. The movie starts with a celebration at Wadera (Feudal) family (in Punjab) to welcome Fawad Khagga aka Humayun Saeed, who has completed his MA and has returned his home. The first 15 minutes revolves around the celebrations.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi

On the other hand, Amal aka Mehwish Hayat who has completed her degree from Fancy College in London, and she comes back to Karachi.

At one side Fawad Khagga belongs to the Wadera family. On the flip side, Amal belongs to the urban family. Fawad Khagga and Amal both parents are relatives of each other. It is a great challenge for Fawad Khagga to convince an urban girl for marriage.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi

Wasaay aka Azfar Rehman plays a role of Amal’s boyfriend. As they both were a classmate at Fancy College in London. Amal wants to marry Wassay but Fawad Khagga tries his best to convince her and finally, he gets success.

The movie is a complete roller coaster of entertainment with so many climaxes. The first half of the movie revolves around convincing, family drama, customs and marriage.

As the movie also features Urwa Hocane and Ahmed Ali Butt in supporting role. So the Urwa Hocane plays a role of Fawad’s cousin while Ahmed plays the role of his friend.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi

Dhurdana aka Urwa Hocane loves Fawad Khagga even after knowing that he is married to Amal. Dhurdana never leaves even a single chance to not only come close to Fawad Khagga but also backbiting about Amal.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi

Well, the second half is full of climax and the unexpected scenes that you’ll become confused that what’s going to happen next. At the same time, the tempo of the movie goes bit slow but it won’t disappoint you.

From entertainment to comedy, love to tragedy, Karachi to Punjab, acting to direction, cinematography to songs, and everything is so promising. And it never let you feel disappointed.

The media students or even a layman will fall in love with artistic angles of frames that have been used in the movie. The audience has already shown such an overwhelming response to the songs of the movie. Especially the song “Tere Naal” has made special space in the hearts of the audience.

The artists of the movie along with the mind blowing direction of Nadeem Baig would never let you feel disappointed. Overall movie is a blockbuster and will break all the records of Pakistan cinema industry.

Yalghaar – It’s all about Patriotism

A nation that don’t only love their army, but also feel proud on their army. Army is the only organization in Pakistan that is only free from corruption, but also always ready to serve his country.
Pakistan Army! Zindabad

Pakistan Zindabad

Yalghaar – a movie, which has been released on this Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan along with 22 other countries of the world. Just before the Eid, a premiere of the movie was held at Islamabad, and the reviews were shared on social media made me speechless until and unless I myself watched the movie.

Just a day before, an event of special screening of Yalghaar movie by Bank Alfalah was held at Cinepax Cinema, Karachi. It was attended by media, press, socialites, bloggers, celebrities, along with the movie cast.

A movie starts from war and ends at war, because it’s Yalghaar. A movie which is based on a true story. All you can find in it from action and thriller to comedy and romance.

Nothing is perfect, so one more thing I would like to share that there were many blunders in the movie like over casting, wrong placement of brand, no scene sequence, unexpected intermission, dialogue delivery (few artists), etc. were the few from the movie. But I must say these all can be ignored because of strong, true and untold story of Pakistan Army, and you’ll definitely love the movie.

Story is very clear! It’s an army operation in which they’ve to clear swat area from terrorists. The tempo of the movie was smooth, you’ll never feel bore but yes there were very few scenes in which you might lose attention.

If I talk about the actors so Shaan shahid, Bilal Ashraf, Adnan Siddiqui, Umair Jeswal and Ayub Khoso were played the role of soldiers. So on the other hand, Sana Bucha, Uzma Khan, Ayesha Omar, and Armeena Rana Khan played the role of wives, and girlfriends. While Humayun Saeed was the villain of the movie, and Gohar Rasheed was the part of his group.

Except few actor not everyone could become successful to satisfy the audience by their acting skills. The movie also had few emotional scenes as well, which might bring tears in your eyes.

Here are the pictures of the event

Mehrunisa V Lub U – All about change but you can’t watch with your family!

A film that release on Eid, would it really become super hit?

Mehrunisa V Lub U is all set to release today (Eid-ul-Fitr) across nationwide, and you can watch it at your nearest cinema. But before watching the film, don’t forget to read this blog post!

Recently a premiere of Mehrunisa V Lub was held at Neuplex Cinema, Karachi. An event was attended by many socialites, celebrities, models, bloggers press, and media, along with the entire cast of the film.

Ali (Danish Taimoor – Leading Actor) who just reaches at Karachi after completing his education from China. The entire mohalla (society) is busy in celebration and welcoming him. Then he becomes distributing gifts among not only his family members but also people of mohalla. After that the story starts about the searching a girl for Ali, and yes Javaid sheikh (Ali’s Father) finds a childhood pic of Ali’s friend from his wallet. Then what? Sheikh Sahib calls girls’ father, and on hurry the entire family goes to Northern areas of Pakistan, where girl lives.

Mehru (Sana Javaid – Leading Actress) is busy in dreaming, and this is the moment when the first song of the film comes “Tu Hi Tu.” Then everything rushes, and finally Ali marry to Mehru, and bring her to Karachi.

Mehru seems so disturbed with the loudness, pollution, noisy environment, and rush life of Karachi, because she had lived so calm life in northern areas. So, this sudden change has obviously to disturb her.

Marzee G (Nayyar Ejaz – Transgender Villain) who wants ruling on the Jordan Mohalla. Because he follows commands of politician Malik Sahib (Shah G), and in near future the worth of that society has to touch the sky.

To see this disturbance of Mehru, they concern doctor, and the doctor suggests Ali to bring his wife back to northern area for some relaxation. So, that’s the moment when Ali decides to change the entire mohalla for the sake of Mehru.

So, the whole story revolves around mohalla, change, Marzee G, and of course Ali and Mehru, and the entire message of the film is about revolution. Although it’s the second movie of director Yasir Nawaz, he must have learn from the mistakes. But unfortunately he couldn’t.

If message of the film is strong so the direction and DOP was not as strong as it should be. The tempo of the film is up and down. The comedy is very third class, although it would definitely capture the hearts of local public, afterward they are their target audience. Film cannot be watched with the family, because of few bold scenes and third class vulgar comedy.

Here I’m sharing few of the dialogue,

Father to son, “Iss bachay ko mouka mila to pura ghar bacho sy bher de ga”

Girl asking to boy, “Mere ye L laga dogay?”

These are just 2 dialogues from the film, you’ll find many others related to it. So, now you can imagine which kind of dialogues has been used in the film.

If Danish has too many dialogues from start to end, so on the other hand Sana has nothing to say or maybe she has been given few dialogues, as it was her debut film.

My ratings for the film:

Direction: 3/5

Entertainment: 2.5/5

Performance: 2/5

Music: 2/5

Script: 1.5/5

Overall rating for the film: 2/5
