Remembering Edhi on his First Death Anniversary

Abdul Sattar Edhi (Edhi Sahib) – Founder of Edhi Foundation, the philanthropist and humanitarian of Pakistan. It has been a year that Edhi Sahib passed away on 8th July, 2016, at the age of 88. And, today is the first death anniversary of Edhi Sahib.

After his death, the government also issued 50 PKR coin in order to pay tribute to him. Different campaigns by national and international brands were run in order to collect donation for Edhi Foundation. After Quaid-e- Azam (Founder of Pakistan) and General Zia-ul-Haq (Chief of army Staff), Edhi sahib became the 3rd Pakistani to receive military guard of honor at funeral ceremony.

Edhi Sahib born in 28th February, 1928, at bantava city of India’s Gujrat state, but at time of partition migrated to Pakistan. Since his childhood, he was so humble, hardworking, and passionate towards charity work since his childhood. Everyday his mother used to give him 2 penny, one to spend on himself while other to help the needy people. The moment when His mother became ill and paralyzed, he started taking care of her a lot, but unfortunately her mother died. This was the time that changed the life of Edhi Sahib, and he opened a small dispensary at Mithadar, Karachi. Then he bought a secondhand ambulance, because at that time there were very few ambulances in city. Then his passion became increase day by day to work for charity.

Today there are over 300 welfare centers across the country, 24 hour medical dispensaries, hotline for missing people, shelters for women and old age people,  largest morgue, more than 1800 ambulances, 28 rescue boats, and 2 airplanes.

Edhi Sahib followed following rules to live a life,

  1. Simplicity
  2. Honesty
  3. Hardworking

Famous quotes of Edhi Sahib

“No religion is higher than humanity”

“People have become educated, but have yet to become human”

“Empty words and long praises do not impress God. Show Him your faith by your deeds”

“My religion is humanitarianism, which is the basis of every religion in the world”

“When you stop living for luxuries, you understand the real meaning of life.”

“I do not have any formal education. What use is education when we do not become human beings? My school is the welfare of humanity.”

“So, many years later there were many who still complained and questioned, ‘Why must you pick up Christians and Hindus in your ambulance?’ And I was saying, ‘Because the ambulance is more Muslim than you’.”

“Any philosopher, any international economist may talk to me about the methods I have introduced and the thoughts behind them. Illiteracy is a disability only for those who lived their lives walking and talking while their minds slept.”

“The dead has only one place to go… up. Wherever you bury them, they will go the same way, up.”

“Those who believed in changing the world were either hungry by circumstance or practiced deprivation by choice.”

I work for the suffering of the common man, something I am very proud of and will continue to do.

“You are the most insignificant of all creatures, but can become most significant if you contribute towards God’s people”

Remembering Edhi sahib on his first death anniversary is not enough at all. We have to be a part of “Mission Charity”, and we have to continue it, and that’s what Edhi Sahib also wanted from the people of Pakistan. He wanted to make Pakistan a welfare state, and now it’s our responsibility to contribute as much as we can.

On 28th February 2017 (Birth Anniversary of Edhi Sahib), not only Pakistan but the entire humanity paid tribute to him, even google updated their Google doodle in order to pay tribute to Edhi Sahib.

Yalghaar – It’s all about Patriotism

A nation that don’t only love their army, but also feel proud on their army. Army is the only organization in Pakistan that is only free from corruption, but also always ready to serve his country.
Pakistan Army! Zindabad

Pakistan Zindabad

Yalghaar – a movie, which has been released on this Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan along with 22 other countries of the world. Just before the Eid, a premiere of the movie was held at Islamabad, and the reviews were shared on social media made me speechless until and unless I myself watched the movie.

Just a day before, an event of special screening of Yalghaar movie by Bank Alfalah was held at Cinepax Cinema, Karachi. It was attended by media, press, socialites, bloggers, celebrities, along with the movie cast.

A movie starts from war and ends at war, because it’s Yalghaar. A movie which is based on a true story. All you can find in it from action and thriller to comedy and romance.

Nothing is perfect, so one more thing I would like to share that there were many blunders in the movie like over casting, wrong placement of brand, no scene sequence, unexpected intermission, dialogue delivery (few artists), etc. were the few from the movie. But I must say these all can be ignored because of strong, true and untold story of Pakistan Army, and you’ll definitely love the movie.

Story is very clear! It’s an army operation in which they’ve to clear swat area from terrorists. The tempo of the movie was smooth, you’ll never feel bore but yes there were very few scenes in which you might lose attention.

If I talk about the actors so Shaan shahid, Bilal Ashraf, Adnan Siddiqui, Umair Jeswal and Ayub Khoso were played the role of soldiers. So on the other hand, Sana Bucha, Uzma Khan, Ayesha Omar, and Armeena Rana Khan played the role of wives, and girlfriends. While Humayun Saeed was the villain of the movie, and Gohar Rasheed was the part of his group.

Except few actor not everyone could become successful to satisfy the audience by their acting skills. The movie also had few emotional scenes as well, which might bring tears in your eyes.

Here are the pictures of the event
